Early Intervention

The CHILD Center serves over 120 children from birth to three years of age who have mental, physical or sensory delays or disabilities. Evaluation and Assessment as well as Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Social and Cognitive Development, and Communication services are available. Counseling and support are also provided for parents and siblings. Transitional services are provided to assist children in transferring to preschool programs. The CHILD Center services both Bergen and Passaic Counties.

Our Time classes are being held for children ages 20-36 months receiving early intervention services.  The small groups meet weekly and are staffed by two teachers and a speech therapist.  The classes focus on separation, socialization and language skills.  A parent/caretaker support group, facilitated by a social worker, runs simultaneously.  Classes are held at The CHILD Center in Oakland.  New classes begin every 2 months.  For more information call (201) 644-0304.

A specialized program of training, counseling and case management provides support and assistance with child rearing for individuals with disabilities who are also parents.
